Looks like the FDE is now out of stock but they still have 6 black ones.
Just got my invoice. It will give me something else to look forward to when I get home. Wife might be pissed when I finally come home I am asking where are my boxes? Fought the urge when I came home on R&R for two days. Don't know how strong I will be this time.

Western Sport is having a sale right now as well on the black rail version: $849.95 plus $4.95 shipping. Sucks as I just ordered one last week for $877.50 plus $4.95 shipping when they were having a 10% off sale.

My guess is it is just because the FDE may be more in demand. If you add the FDE railed upper to your cart the $975 price comes up. |

You can easily build a lower to your specs for $350 ($1250 total) versus buying their complete rifle and having to buy your preferred stock, trigger, grip, etc. At $550 ($1450 total), it is an easier decision. Buy a Colt lower and the DD upper and you will be in better shape.

Since you can buy a complete Colt rifle for around $900, I figured you could get them fairly cheap. If not, there is an arbitrage in the market and it might be prudent to buy the complete rifle and sell the upper netting the Colt lower super cheap. But I don't know what uppers sell for either and it could be more time and effort than it is worth. It really depends on what the end user wants. The Colt aspect wasn't really my main point, which was that it would probably be wiser to secure the upper and lower separately instead of buying the complete DD rifle unless the DD is set up exactly the way you want. Otherwise, you would end up spending even more money buying the stock (or other part) you really want. |

Right now I'm running a DD mk18 upper on my 607 lower, which for now is the only stamped lower I have for SBR. That lower is one I finished on an 80% lower, and I engraved all the "retro" rollmarks to build my 607. I am working on another lower that I'll engrave all the correct marks for a "genuine looking" Mk18, but I'm slow. I also considered a complete DD SBR because eveyone always says a factory SBR will always be worth more, but I don't plan on selling anyway..........I've sold, I think, 3 firearms in 40 years.

If you buy one right now @ $1450 you get a free 512 EOTECH. They actually gave the choice of $1250 for the just the SBR or $1450 for the SBR and free Eotech 512 as I called and ordered just as he was changing the ad. I hope the prices for the FDE railed upper go up in the near future... all I really wanted was a DD SBR lower. If I can get $975 for the upper it .. it will go. |

I bought one from http://machineguntours.com for $850 about a month ago. They were listed on gun broker, but I just called and they sold me one directly. Great service and a kick ass price!
