I'm itching to build another SBR, but I really have my AR bases covered. I'd like to build something unique, but I'm not sure what. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Ideas I'm kicking around:
Rossi Mare's Leg in .357 or .44 mag
Glock with Hera Arms Stock
Maybe a bolt gun in a suppressor-friendly caliber (not 300 BLK. Already have an SBR AR)

I'd considered an MP5 or a PS90, but I probably won't go that route, due to cost. Not really interested in an AK either. Anything I'm forgetting, or anything else to consider?

Meh. We have a post sample lower at work. It was fun for about 1,000 rounds, but after that, the novelty wears off. We haven't taken it out of the safe in 6+ months.

9mm Uzi / Mini Uzi / Micro Uzi

Comparatively cheap to get into, parts and mags are very available, easy to find subsonic 9mm ammo, many cans have Uzi adapters or will thread onto a barrel...

My SIG556 SBR is my favorite SBR that i own, its so choice to shoot, if you have the means i highly suggest getting one.

My next one is going to be a VEPR 12 SBS, thinking of chopping it in the 12-14" range. The gun should be here next week.

PS90. I helped a friend of mine do a F1 on his and it finished out with a Gemtech bi-lock mount for his G5 can.

If not a PS90, do a Scorpion.

I'd go with a Form 1 DDLES 9/40/357/GAP lower from Double Diamond and make a .40 upper simply because 180gr 40 is subsonic and quieter than 45 for some reason. Cheaper too and, IME, easier to find than subsonic 9mm. It's an AR tho.

Maybe a Beretta CX4?

You should reconsider. M92 PAP pistol is only $400. Cheap and easy conversion. Throws one hell of a fireball too. A VZ 61 Skorpion would be a fun one as well.

Sure but then you can't have a stock. I think a 12" lever action would be great.

They also make an 8.25" pistol version, I would imagine you could convert it to a SBR, don't know how pleasant a 7.62x51 in an 8" package would feel recoil wise though

The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards an SBR Scout/Guide Gun type lever action.....

I'm thinking something like this in 44 Mag or 45 Colt. I'm not sure 45/70 would be fun to shoot in an SBR package. Since there's not really a stainless/laminate Mare's Leg on the market, I'm not sure if it would be easier to start with a Mare's Leg pistol, or just buy a rifle and have it cut down?

I want to chop my 700 in 300blk down to about 12" and make room in the stock for the surpressor to fit, think it would be a cool look

Or a short 500 s&w lever gun but that'll take a winning powerball ticket to buy

Thanks for the tip. I'm pretty well sold on the lever action SBR now.

I'd like to put together something like their Backpacker Scout:

I'm not looking to spend $3,000+ on this gun, so I probably won't do that whole package. I might just ask how much they would charge to cut the barrel and magazine tube down.

I've got a few ideas. I've done one of these...

and one of these...

But I'm working on ideas of how to put a stock on this...

I've seen the Tommy gun pistols. Should be able to either buy the pistol 'upper' and put it on a rifle lower OR perhaps attach a stock to the pistol 'lower' if that's possible.

SBR Thompson is a good one, and I hadn't thought of it yet. I almost think they even offered a factory SBR at one point, so I might look and see if that's still available?

EDIT: It's still in production. MSRP of $1970.

I have a Thompson I picked up for $800. I think I'd buy a pistol and go through the Form 1 instead of buying an SBR direct from AO.

Once they figure out the gas system for the suppressor, this is on my short list for SBR. Rock
River PDS. I guess you said non-AR, I have a short attention span.
