Here's my home-built.  Details:

Aero Precision Upper and Lower receivers
Ballistic Advantage 10.3” barrel, Hanson profile
AIM Surplus Nitride BCG and H3 buffer
SLR Rifleworks 9.7" Ion Lite Rail
BCM Gunfighter charging handle and QD end plate
Magpul K2 grip and SL-K stock
Veritas Machining SBR Engraving
Hammer Forge Gunworks Patriot Brown Cerakote

I have about 200 rounds through it so far, and I've been a little shocked at how well it has run.  I went to the range expecting a lot of troubleshooting.  I'm still fiddling with rail covers and muzzle devices.  This beast is pretty loud - I'm blasting the guys next to me at the range.  I have a linear comp on order.

This is my first SBR, and since I was assembling it myself I decided to "upgrade" all the things I wish I had on my other AR.  Next week is its first trial run at a tac rifle match.  Can't wait!

Mocked it up with my Mini-4 by just slipping it over the A2 to see how it'll look.  I've got a 51t brake I need to mount ASAP.

I REALLY like your rifle.  With the exception of the Aimpoint, it reminds me of most of the guns on this board when I joined back in '06.  It's like a functional "retro" build.

Thanks!  Funny to think of it as a "retro" build but I guess most of that stuff is pretty dated lol.  I bought most of the accessories around 2006 while I was in the Army since it was what I knew.  Pulled it all off a different carbine for this shorty upper.  I do need a Malkoff drop in LED for the Surefire though.

It's heavy for what it is compared to newer stuff but everything is pretty much bomb proof and still very functiinal.  I'm still not big into the Keymod/MLOK stuff. Once I wring it out a little more it'll be my go to AR if it proves reliable  (and I'm sure it will).

Why is your laser so far back?

Balance?

I would assume out of the way from your support hand would be.

Sorry for the delayed reply, but GGGBeo50 got it right about the support hand.  I have a thumb-over-rail grip and there is no rail estate forward of my support hand. My thumb would block the IR illuminator from the PEQ-15 but when I'm actually using NODs and my IR illuminator, my grip is slightly different. It's a bit of a training scar but it works for me.

Do you get bored real easily, not satisfied, or own a ton of SBR's?

Local place just got a ton of LE trade in CASV-ELs and I've always liked 'em. Used to have one on a rifle a few years back. For the price, I couldn't not take one home. I actually went in just to buy that Ergo grip haha.

I also get bored very easily lol.

That's eventually going to be the end goal. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of info out there on them that I can find. My biggest thing would be optics.. haven't seen any Aimpoints on the EOD version, and that's what I'd like to use.

Hopefully I'll have it back this week so I can post it up

Here's my L119A1 clone.

Nodak form 1'd lower with Geissele G2S trigger
Colt 6921SP 10" upper with ECOS-NSN ACOG and Surefire brake

The factory 10" upper is WAY overgassed.  I've got an H3 buffer and a Springco Orange (308) spring and it finally tamed it down.  With a Surefire SOCOM-SB and a gas buster I get no gas to the face and it cycles fine with or without can.  Can't believe it'll run with that heavy of a spring.

My SBR build has been the only rifle that I've had a hard time truly being happy with.  Not sure why that is.  Switched up a few things, went from black to FDE furniture, and swapped the A2 flash hider for a Daniel Defense flash hider.

How much have you shot it?  I'm hooked on my «16" uppers, to the point of shooting a regular 16" carbine seems long, and a 20" upper felt like a Kentucky long rifle.

I have a 10.5, 14.5, 16, a 20, and shortly I will have an 18 too. The 20 doesn't feel like a musket, it just feels like a rifle to me.

Shrugs.
