I hadn't really embraced my 12.5". Until yesterday.
My wife and I went to the range. She took her rifle and I took the 12.5" with the YHM Phantom and an ACOG TA31RM04. I hadn't put the ACOG on anything yet, so I figured I'd give it a go. Holy Crap! Now I embrace the hell out of it! Attached File |

Your scout light is mounted on an offset at the 7:30 position. Is there are reason for that or did you just have the offset mount already and made it work? Why not mount it at 9:00? |

Originally Posted By BrWn001COW: @Daggertt 9:00 position would make more sense, yes. i had the offset mount already, and just decided to roll with it. the perst 3 is big, but the weight isnt bad. the main illuminator adjustment screw (#20) and the illuminator adjustment screw plate (#12) were contacting my front sight, so i had to reverse it. as you can see in the pic, the pressure switch and perst 3 take up the entire top rail on a 9" KMR-Alpha. with the SOPMOD it balances pretty well. weight unloaded is 7lbs 6.70 oz. https://i.imgur.com/cj2aZZD.jpg https://i.imgur.com/xHuJyJN.jpg https://i.imgur.com/uWSBmpl.png View Quote The perst-3 seems to offer equal or better capabilities as the dbal D2 with a lower profile and weight. With the activation switch on the back and the intensity adjustment buttons on the side, right where your thumb would be, it seems like the switch is kind of unnecessary? I'm planning to put one on a URX4 with a modlite OKW. Attached File |
