Where did you put your engraving? |

Two places, it is on the receiver and on the stock at the required depth and size as specified.

The SN has the 1/16" minimum in addition to the .003" depth...everything else is just the .003". Granted, it would be fairly tough to engrave any smaller than that, but it would be legal. |

Certain additional information must also be conspicuously placed on the frame, receiver, or barrel of the firearm by engraving, casting, stamping (impressing), they must be placed in such a manner that they are wholly unobstructed from plain view. Link I didn't ask because I thought engraving the stock made it illegal. Still not sure if engraving the stock and receiver makes it legal according to 7.4.2 |

I have one in a standard stock that was cut at about 11.25", which was as short as i could go without chopping into the stock. i've been thinking about going shorter on it though... also, what did you use for sights? |

Thank you. Its a GM 10" charger barrel. The fire sights came on them. It get a much better sight picture over the factory sights. And I am one for factory irons only, but did Ruger ever mess up on them sights. Yup, I had to cut off about two inches on the stock. Lots of eye balling and measuring. Thinking about taking off an inch on the back side and re-profile to the origin contour, and try to re-use the butt plate. Will post range report this weekend. |

I didn't ask them to do anything at all actually. I submitted the form 1 right before the shit hit the fan with eforms and everything was corrupted. I kept getting a metadata error and "ask the experts" said that if everything works out, the form should generate upon approval. Then when everything went down I sent a polite email to pretty much everyone at the NFA branch asking them what was going to happen with my problem form 1 and I received a response from a supervisor saying they would look into it. Then I got a phone call from an examiner and we trouble shot the problem together over the phone and *poof* form generated and approved. I supposed I was a guinea pig to figure out what was wrong with some kind of process. Happy to be a test dummy though! |

Luck you!

Honestly, set up like this...its a pig. But the balance is outstanding…always has been. I have since removed the EOtech/Magnifier combo, light and mount, and fitted it with a T1. The weight is much better. Without the can, it swings well fully collapsed. While fitted with the suppressor, I like the stock extended a bit. I have always completely loved this rifle…now that I have it SBR'ed, it's my new favorite. Very fun project…it began its life as a basic ACR. |
