I'm interested as well. I wasn't planning on any SBR's or Form 1's and didn't really know any better...
Now I want to do an SBR and it'll about have to wrap half way around the darn magwell to fit it all.

I am curious about this too but how about just forming a new Trust for your next purchases? Is it possible or within the bounds of technical legality?

I gave that some thought, but it would be $200 to move pieces betwixt trusts.

Why not copy the entire trust, decide on a new name, add a nice ten dollar bill to your schedule A, have it notarized, and submit form 1 based upon utilizing second trust name? Maintain the original trust for items already registered to it, start new with a fresh name.

Legally you can amend the trust to change its name, but I understand it is highly frowned upon my the ATF if you already have items in the trust. Might be better to form a new trust with a new name.

My situation-
2 cans on a trust 1 F1 in the works. It took the F1, and its associated engraving, to make me realize how long the name was. So, for future reference, should I write a new one or amend? Fuckin stamps taste like heroin. ![]() Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile I'm in the same boat. Did the trust to get 2 cans and now I'm doing a F1. I've just decided to bite the bullet and pay a bit more for engraving my long ass trust name on the lower. I'm just going to do the right side mag well below the fence. Then again...it's just a tool to me and I really don't care if it looks obtrusive on the side of the rifle...some people don't like that. It's going to take 3 lines and probably cost me darn near $100 for the engraving but it's the price I'll pay for not anticipating wanting an SBR when I formed the trust... ![]() |

gall damn, 100 smackers? The local trophy shop does them for 10.
Unfortunately they're not an FFL, so you have to stay with it. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

It can be done. It's not an issue.
No different than changing the name of a corporation or a married woman owning an nfa item on a form 1 and getting married with the resultant name change. |

I wanted to amend the name of my trust but to just remove the "revocable living trust" at the end. I'm assuming I just change, note somewhere that it has been changed and renotorize it? Or should I just remove it and not say anything. All my form 1-4's don't don't have it on there.

I would type up an amendment sheet that says you are changing the name from _____ to _______ effective immediately and sign and notarize it. Be sure to send in that amendment when you submit to the ATF.

Mine will basically read " I'm changing the name from "XXXX Revocable Living Trust" to "XXXX Trust". Since the name is the same I'm just dropping the "Revocable living" crap off the end.

If you send in another form you will need to include the amendment. No need to notify the ATF of the name change.

For your engraving, you can leave off Revocable Living and just do XXXX Trust. You can even just initial your first and middle name like this :
A.B.Charlie Trust. My Town, USA There was another thread like this around here somewhere... |

I recently had my lawyer do this exact thing. My original trust name was something like XXX Revocable Trust and I had sent in Form 1s with this trust. After my first batch of SBRs, I decided to reduce the trust name to something like XXX Trust. My lawyer made the amendment and I have sent in several Form 1s with the newly amended trust (they are currently still pending).

Extra points to anyone who names their trust:
"In God We Trust" |
