No list of "Best Custom Rifle Builders" is complete without Robert Gradous. His shop is just outside August, GA. He is a very gifted craftsman for sure. Plus he is a true gentleman.

Thanks, Fro. But I sure can't take any credit. David and Jason are the artists. LOL.

Nate at Straight Shot Gunsmithing is probably not mentioned near enough over here. The .300wm he built for me is nothing short of perfection..

My brother has a M40 clone built by SSG. It is an extremely accurate rifle. I have a Phoenix Custom Rifles .308, and have been really pleased with the quality and accuracy with it.

I think I may go with GAP but I will still keep my options open until I make my final decision.

I just did some reading on Robert Greadious's website and from what I read/can tell he won't use a 700 action. I've read alot about him on the hide but heck those surgeon actions are not cheap, I'm sure they great but wow.

Yeah pretty lame.

Action: Component-supplied build packages are based on Surgeon actions. Other premium custom actions are not out of the question, but they will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Builds on "factory" actions (Remington, Winchester, etc.) will not be considered, as the time required to blueprint and true them outweighs the small initial investment in a superior action, like Surgeon.

Every time this subject comes up on snipershide R&D Precision is mentioned over and over and over.

His website's not the greatest but you might try calling him. I also believe he goes by "hateca" on all the forums.

I have two rifles built by Randy in the past. Great end product, straightforward, zero BS. He has developed some BM mag kits and pattern turn-key rifles in more recent times.

Nope, only guarantee 1/2moa. But if it shoots better, I doubt it's coming back.

It depends on what you want. I like RWS gunsmthing. But I only use custom smiths for magnum cartridges. Any 308 Ar I would build my own.

Mark builds one hell of a rifle, and is a great guy to deal with. He is the only one that I will have do work for me now.
