So I recently decided to embark on the journey into the precision rifle shooting world. Using a lot of lurking in these forums and some recommendations from friends I settled upon what I have below. Specs and pics follow.

Remington 700 SPS tactical in .308
Bushnell Trophy Hunter 3-9 x 40 scope
Non-Harris Bi-pod that I got off of amazon for $30 (which I already had for my AR to help determine whether my rifle was bad or if I was just a crappy shot, turned out to be the latter).

For the record, I looked also at the 700 SPS AAC-SD. As cool as it is with the pre-threaded barrel, I don't see myself entering the suppressed world at any point in the near future, and if I do, it will most likely be for my AR or pistols, so I went with the regular one. However my interest in this sparked my recent post about muzzle brakes for .308 (if anyone has been keeping tabs on me).

All in all I am extremely happy with the rifle and the scope. The scope is simple to operate, and I figured at this point it wasn't worth dropping the extra dime on a high-end scope since I didn't even know what I wanted in a good scope. It does what I need it too and it seems to hold zero well as far as I can tell.

Same deal with the stock. I know that I don't like it, but I need to shoot it some more to determine what it is I want in a better aftermarket replacement, the availability of which was one of the factors into going with the Remington 700. I purchased a slew of different types of ammo all at once to see what it liked best, and so far it seems to like federal premium 168 grain sierra match-king. I have dived into reloading for it, but that is a separate post with separate problems...

Anyway, PICS!

Your rifle looks great you will be very happy with the accuracy right out of the box. Now let's see some pictures of how your rifle does at the range.

You can use .308 suppressor on your AR's plus it's nice to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I have a YHM 7.62 muzzle brake/suppressor mount for my 5R and love it.
