The 3.5 looks like it has more eye relief and is longer which I seem to remember being good for optics. The 4X has a wider FOV.

Here are the two I was comparing, not set just picked two similar reticles and started comparing. Any input or experience? I have a 3X33 Acog now and am thinking about stepping up to one of the big ones.

What do you want to do with it, and what weapon is it going onto?

IMO, the 4x32 ACOG is a poor choice for anything with more recoil than 5.56 due to the eye relief. For .308s go with the TA11 series.

AF, I too have a TA33 and love it. That being said my buddy has a TA11 and it is better in every way. The mag difference is so little its really a non issue. The eye relief and and FOV are a lot better. It really is the best ACOG IMO.

The TA31 is useless IMO. I would not spend the kind of dough required for one to end up with all its compromises.

While it might end up on my AR10 its primary use will be on a 223 gun. I have a couple 16" guns and a 20" which it would be a great fit on.

No question about it, the TA11 is your best bet. I currently own a couple TA31s and a TA55, and have owned a few TA33s and TA01s. The TA33s are nice, but the FOV is very lacking. The TA31 is a huge improvement over the TA33 regarding FOV, but eye relief becomes very short. The great thing about the TA11 is it gives a great combination of FOV and eye relief, kind of the like taking the best attributes of the TA33 and TA31 and combining them into one optic. Of course, its not as compact as the TA31 or TA33, but its really a non issue on a 16" or 20" rifle. I use my TA55 on a 16" 1/7 that's set up to shoot 77gr SMKs, and it has worked great. I would love to build another with a TA11, just haven't found a good enough deal yet.

As far as comparing 3.5x vs 4x, its really not much of an issue. Go with the TA11, its a great optic!

I was pretty set on the TA11 so this thread is playing to my emotion

It is a moot point unless I sell some of my other stuff as I am a broke dick at the moment
