Hey guys,

Would anybody out there happen to have one of these yet? I've been looking real hard at getting one of these but would like to hear some first hand reviews from actual owners If possible. Of course pics are always welcome.

Thanks,

Bravo

It interests me but I haven't seen really any info on them yet.

You could buy one and do a review for us.

I looked into one of these awhile back. Reloading for the hornet is problematic so I dropped the idea.

I looked at one yesterday, its a fast round. I all ready have a .17HMR so it wasnt enough of a differance for me to get one. I think I will end up with a 22-250 instead.

Are we looking at the same numbers??? Your HMR will push a 20gr bullet to 2375 and will do the 17gr aat 2550.

The Hornet does the 20gr at 3650. Over 1000fps difference.

Savage has 3 part numbers for their model 25 in 17 hornet. They are probably just waiting on ammo from hornady.

I have a custom barreled browning a-bolt in 17 hornet, awesome little round!
loading dies are expensive, forming brass is time consuming, and you have to be very careful sizing fired brass.

Don't have the Hornady but I've been shooting a custom 17 Hornet Ackley Improved for over 5 years. The only problem I've had has been getting Winchester 22 Hornet brass to reform. The Remington brass is too thin in the neck to work with the Redding dies I have. I've been able to push a Molly coated 20 V-Max to 3800 fps but the primer pockets were loose after 3 firings so I backed it down to 3650 and have been fine. Incidently it ONLY took a .3 grain reduction in powder to reduce velocity 150 fps. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION(weighing)all powder charges. I've REALLY enjoyed this rifle. Ruger M77/22H VBZ?

ya man. its a cookin little round. but it is still pushing a relativly small round. I just wanted something a bit bigger. Like the 22-250.
