I did but it's to small a may have to chose another one to take its place. You definitely need to make it bigger! Not really sure how. They only let you have a set limit size. I am saying you need a close up of the action/stock. That better? Much better! |

I did not know it came with a H S precision stock. I ordered a stock pack, data book, base and bipod. so I should have everything within a week. I really hope a 3-9 x40 scope will do for now, I am looking for flip up covers, I found them at midway but I am not sure what sizes to get for the prostaff.. |

Finally got a bolt rifle... I haven't got it to the range yet, but that's why I'm anxious for next weekend.
Remington 5R in .308, 20" barrel Bushnell HDRM with G2 reticle Badger USMC 34mm rings Badger Maximized 20 MOA base I'm first going to see if this thing is actually a good shooter. If it's 3/4 MOA or better, I'm going to drop it in a AICS 2.0 chassis with some viper skins or a Manners T4-Adjustable with DBM, get a better trigger (the stock trigger has a very clean break, but it's still a tad to firm), instal a better bolt knob, and give it a good FDE cerakote. And for some extra novelty factor, the first three digits of the serial number are 777! Even though I haven't shot it yet, this gun is really making me hate the fact that we can't have cans in Vermont.

Well I'm very new to the precision scene but hope to improve quickly
Here is my R700 AAC-SD in 308 with an AX AICS, Trijicon glass, Harris BP my Larue scope base was too long so I had to mount the 13" tube a little further forward than it is supposed to be. Altogether it took me 15 min to install and I've never owned a bolt rifle.
And here is a group from the first time shooting it: 165gr gameking since I'll use it mostly for hunting (I shot it once in the factory hogue stock to make sure it was sub-moa before I spent the big bucks on an upgrade) ![]() |

Why not do a come up chart in MOA? I work in 1/4 clicks been doing it that way since the early 90s and when I use a scope that adj in 1/4 clicks I just use it that way and think in those terms. use MOA when the scope is in MOA |

For me it was easier when I started thinking in MOA rather than clicks. Its much faster, easier to remember, and adjust 7.5 moa or iphy to 400 yards than count out 30 clicks. Same thing for 1000 yards. 38.5 moa or 154 clicks?
Sorry to get off topic, just trying to help a shooter out. |

Sorry to get off topic, just trying to help a shooter out. not for me. i Can range. look down, and I can figure it either way, I got it memorized anyway , and can just make full turns, then count the little bit differnce I am aware , and have used MOA before and do sometiems, but I been shooting long range a loong time out to 1000 yards and even a mile, and my system works fine for me, and is a way for new long range shooters to understand faster. I appreciate the thought, but I been at the long range game long enough my system for how i use my come ups is not a problem. |
