Hammer forged barrels are not known for the ultimate in accuracy.

Cut rifling is still used in plenty of BR grade barrels.

Look up 'sine bar rifling machine.'

There are still plenty of Pratt & Whitney ones running around.

Some need more work that others.

Nothing wrong with a good button rifled barrel. In fact, the best shooting Ar barrels I have are all button rifled ( not sure about the newer Larue stuff)

Very cool process. Interesting that the steel is hardened already before they drill the hole through it.
