I agree that this is remarkably well written book.

The book is well written and illustrated with good notes to accompany the photos.  Plenty of detail for hand fitting a 1911 without getting bogged down in the minutiae of a Kuhnhausen book.

The problem with the Kuhnhausen books is that they attempt to be all inclusive and the information is too densely packed on small pages.  However, I think they are a necessary reference, too.

Kuleck's first book on the 1911 is also worth the cost.  Someone that knows little about the pistol should buy both Kuleck books, and then the Kuhnhausen book.  All three at once is a pretty good idea, but I think you'd be better served by leaving aside for a while.

Kuleck's writing style is excellent and easy to read, and that should be a factor in the decision to buy his books.
