I'm working on a .257 Roberts AI sporter on a Vz.24 action for my girlfriend, and getting close to contouring and cutting my barrel.  She's on the shorter side and I'd like to keep the rifle relatively handy.  Suggestions as to a barrel length that's still accomplishing that without completely hamstringing the round?

24 minimum with a light contour because it is an over bore cartridge and you need that barrel length to get the performance....

if you want a shorter barrel 250 savage and call it a day

24"

Too good of a cartridge to not use its full potential by using a shorter barrel.

But if you must the shortest I would do is 22"
