I got this SS 6.5-06 barrel in a trade I think it's for a rem 700 but it won't fit in a 700 recoil lug. the rusty one is stamped Remington

This is as far as the recoil lug will slide on to the SS barrel

I am doing a little research to see if some one made a receiver with a really odd size...will have a better answer Tuesday or so.

What are the dimensions?

Measure in metric and see if it comes out closer to an even number than imperial.

Most of the metric receivers I can think of are slightly smaller not bigger than a 700

I am moving and don't have access to calipers, trying to sell This barrel, had a buyer but backed out when the recoil lug wouldn't fit...

yeah as far as I can tell it was made for a receiver that was "printed" to a slightly oversized thread diameter.

just open the lug the same amount and sell it

So, you barrel is broken?
I'll buy it for $50

Seriously though, sell it after opening up a recoil lug, and make sure it's clear it's an over size barrel thread for a blueprinted action.
