Help me think this through.
A friend of mine has an Encore and has the Jones for a .300 WSM barrel. Such barrel does not exist. The obvious choice is the readily available .300 Win Mag, buuuut..... It occurred to me that dimensionally, a .308 chamber could be reamed to a .300 WSM, or at least it appears so to me. The first bugaboo that occurs to me is : is there going to be enough chamber wall on a .308 to allow the expansion, and, the extractor would have to be changed and modified. Almost seems frighteningly straight forward. What am I missing? Just thinking out loud.

Bolt thrust is the answer, too much for the Encore platform. Passed it on to my friend so he can put his dream to rest.
