Per Beretta facebook indicates the returning of CX4 Storm. With the current look of CX4 (bunny ear sights & thumb hole stock), I don't think CX4 can compete with EVO 3.

I never knew that stopped importing them. My local gun shop had at least one in stock last time i was there and they have had one to rent at the range for as long as i have been going there.

I have always liked the way they looked. But that is really a personal thing. I think the EVO, while great, looks a bit out of place with the stock handguard. The HB industries handguard looks perfect on it.

I like my CX4 a lots. Very accurate & reliable toy, but the rear rabbit ear sight block the view of my reddot. I plan to cut off those rabbit ear sight and move the rail back a few inches (see the picture that I made below), but I am worry that I will mess it up.

You might want to give these guys a call. They offer a service like that and every upgrade a CX4 owner could need.

USPSA Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) division is starting to pick up down here...I couldn't find a CX4 that took the long 92 magazines at the time so built an AR platform... would be a good marketing opportunity for Beretta

Why would you call it a toy?  I was thinking I might want one for home defense for me or the family.  Since it's lw and might be easy for the wife and kiddos to learn on.   Plus if the number 1 touted handgun is a G19, then why would the caliber all of a sudden become useless in a carbine?

Probably because it is a range toy to him. Honestly, the majority of use only really ever use our guns a  toys.

And you can have Sierra Papa do the stock conversion.

How ever Beretta could keep the majority of the internals and do an external redesign with a collapsible stock (HK style).

The shortage was due to India buying 900,000 of them (or some shit like that) for their border patrol troops.  With an order like that you don't mess around trying to go retail.  So there was a gap in the availability for import.

(India is and has been ramping up due to tensions with Pakistan so they probably said "do it now or don't do it at all.")

I saw a post on the Beretta Forum that there's an oddball Russian (?) import version available on Classic Arms site for anyone who has to have one now. The barrel is longer than 16" and it doesn't come with the hard case or additional rail piece per the reviews.

So did Beretta actually re-release the CX4 yet?  Is there some kind of release date?  I been checking but nothing.  Looking for 92 mags version, because I want to get a 92a1 to go along with it.

They seem to come over in lots, maybe once a year. I rarely see any CX4s at local shows but when the CX4 got redesigned there were suddenly three of them available at the same show, then the next show had one and that's the last one I've seen on a table.

Don't forget the mag release.
It has to be used with the mag well sleeve as well.

Here you go.
To convert CX4 mag wells to use different magazines, you need a new mag well insert and Beretta suggest a new release button as well. Here are the part numbers needed:

92/96 magazines require the C5A511 insert and C89109 release button.

8000/8040 magazines require the C5A670 insert and C89110 release button.

8045 Cougar version uses the C5A671 insert and C89110 release button.

PX4 9mm and .40 caliber magazines require the C5C620 insert and C89210 release button.

The parts are available directly from Beretta for a little over $30.

Thanks for posting that. My CX4 is already set up for 92 mags (bought when B*t*ch was blowing them out for $599 shipped) so I didn't know it required more than the insert.

Yeah just like that.  I only want the pistol if I can get the carbine first.  But seeing it's already mid-October I highly doubt that I be able.  Not sure why freaking Beretta can just release 92 version already!

I thought that Beretta was going to be making an CX4 here in the states.
That would allow for more of the features that Americans want on their carbines.

I heard the same rumor, but not sure if there's any truth to it. Since Beretta moved their U.S. production I'm hoping they have plans to do that, as much as I like the current Storm carbine setup it would be nice if they could start a redesign without worrying about 922r compliance.

I would be really surprised if Beretta ever made the CX-4 in the US. Why? While I love he CX-4 and have one of the early ones I know the market for them just isn't that large. I suppose they could make a few of the parts here and then assemble them in the US but why? They need big volumes to do that and as good of a product that is is the CX-4 is not that big a seller.

I have loved my CX-4 for a lot of years and wouldn't consider selling it, but I know its not for everyone.

Yeah, unless they do a really reconfigured one that wouldn't be importable, I can't see them doing them here unless the new plant is a LOT cheaper to manufacture in that Italy. I would love a SBR model from the factory though. :)
