Hello everyone, I just picked up a little Ruger 77/357 rifle, and would like some of your suggestions on what type of optic in the 1x4 range ( give or take a little) that would work great for this little rifle that won't break the bank.

I have a Burris Fullfield 3x7 compact on mine. Looks good and works great for shooting small targets at range.

Quoted:
Leupold 2.5x Ultralight.

Or the Weaver 1x-3x variable.

Both are super short and lightweight.

This is what I run and its a perfect match for the rifle & caliber.
Super bright glass for dusk/dawn low light shots.
Rugged & so light you don't even notice it.
Wide FOV and fast on target.

Vortex 2-7 with bdc reticle, clear bright and cheap.

Works great with my super heavy sub loads.

Agreed: either would definitely be a good choice. I have the "other" choice (Weaver 1-3x) on mine, and it works quite well, especially at about 1/2 the price of the ultralight Leupold (which sits on the Ruger No. 1).

I'm feeling inadequate (optics-wise). I have a SRT integral 77/44 and run a Burris Fastfire III.  I actually have a spare Burris Firefield somewhere...this thread has me thinking...
