My stamp is pending so I can't really find out for myself just yet... But some of you guys already have it SBR'd. How far have you shot it? Which bullet weights are giving you the best performance?

The factory literature says 250m, that seems overly optimistic by 50-100m.

I would be curious if someone scoped one and shot a few groups from 100yards to show how well they performed.  What is the expected accuracy from the scorpion?

2-300 yards, 400 yards is possible but is being optimistic.

We regularly gong steel at 200 yards. 9mm out of a carbine, especially loaded to nato specs, is perfectly capable of ruining someones day at those ranges.

9mm SBR? Will drop like a rock past 100 yards, and terminal ballistics highly questionable. Not what it is designed for at all.

Define "maximum effective range."

Normally, as in mil specs, the MEF is defined as the ability to obtain a  first round hit and/or a certain percentage of hits on a target of given size.

So, for example, if the definition is a first round hit and 9 out of 10 rounds on an E-Silhouette, the MEF is ?

I wouldn't want to engage something past 100m

That's exactly the angle I'm going for. IE: Point/Area target.

I think the DoD says a 50% hit rate and that seems sensible for an SMG type weapon.

still have to try my Evo at longer range but I can tell you that 250m for the 9mm cartridge is not a problem.
does it make sense to engage at 250m with a SMG? maybe not but it's doable.

ETA:
Just found out that Iraqveteran8888 posted a nice vid on youtube some time ago about this topic.. Have a look at it ;)

100yds is really abut the max effective range for 9mm. I've shot my MP5 at 200yds and the bullet drop was significant, something like 3ft IIRC. At 200yds the bullet will also have lost about half of its energy.

So how do we rectify this discussion?

3600 inches is best

I shot mine at 100 and 200 last weekend, at the 100 yard Mark I had no issues hitting all my shots in an 8" plate from a bench.  200 was hard, only landed a couple on the 6 inch plate using iron sights, the front post is a good bit larger than the plate at that distance plus compensating for bullet drop makes it tricky.
