I was thinking about one of these: http://www.webyshops.com/images/Leupold/LEUPOLD-DeltaPoint-Reflex-Sight-7-5-MOA-Delta-Mounting-Kit-65930-Pic2.jpg I figure with all of the mounting options there should be something to give an absolute cowitness. Thoughts? For those that bought the Sparc 2, how does it cowitness? My OCD won't allow anything but absolute View Quote Absolute cowitness would be really low with a stock on it in my opinion but I have not tried it yet either |

I went with the Meopta M-Rad 5 moa dot. It doesn't cowitness in any way and that is a great thing for me. Keep in mind that the Scorpion's bus doesn't flip down and out of the way.... so they will ALWAYS be in your optic's already small sight window... if you choose to cowitness. It has a QD mount just in case your high quality optic somehow goes down during that "never gonna happen" shootout. If it does happen...it only takes 0.67 seconds to remove and you'll stay right in the action. You'll also get to enjoy a clean sight picture for the life of the gun. http://imageshack.com/a/img538/6194/tWP0OY.jpg I have since moved the optic to the furthest point on the receiver... right where it meets the fore end. It works well there. http://imageshack.com/a/img633/4564/yDU1QL.jpg View Quote Looks great! What case do you have for it? |

It takes CR1632 batteries which are super cheap(and small). I keep around 20 of them in my bag. I haven't had any issues with dead batteries yet but the Scorpion isn't getting used much in pistol form. The batteries will retain thier charge for years if just sitting though... so it shouldn't be an issue for HD gun. Just change em whenever if it's getting used alot. I really like it and would buy it all over again if I had to. |

I m trying to find an option similar to using flip up sights on an AR with a rds. They'll cowitness when up but stay out of your sight picture when down the rest of the time so the red dot is the only thing you're using to aim.
Does this make sense? I guess I'm trying to find out what rds might offer some slightly higher mounting options so it's above the factory BUIS all the time. If the rds fails, you toss it aside and still have the BUIS to use. OR what flip up BUIS sites could be used to replace the fixed factory ones so they still out of the way of the rds site picture. The magpul Gen 2 ones seem a bit high even folded down. Ideas? Thx Jim |

I don't know if it is exactly 1/3 but the factory irons co-witness easily through the bottom of the optic and the dot is now significantly above the irons when I am not using them. It also is QD if that is important to you. Honestly when I was just using the mount that came with the micro dot it was the first time that I had ever used an absolute co-witness set up. It really wasn't as problematic as I thought that it would be. I was surprised how intuitive it became after a pretty short period of time. I really only "saw" the sights if I was actually paying attention to them. |

I'm kinda amazed how many people are leaving their irons on.... Then again, you're mostly all using cheap chinese optics, so I guess it makes sense.
I'll move my H1 to the Evo and pick up an H2 for the AR. No irons on the Evo. I'm absolutely confident after having shot with my optics off on my ARs that I can easily make hits to 100y on man sized targets with a good cheek weld and the tube as a reference. I won't be shooting the Evo that far most likely. |
