Hello,
I placed the order for it last week & the guys behind the
counter couldn't believe it came in so quick. I was expecting
a month, at least.

I am intending to do some mods & up grades, of course. I
will add a red dot, probably upgrade the front sight, paint
it, etc.

My S2K is .40 Glock pattern. Can I get the mags to drop free?
It's not a huge deal, but I would like drop free.  I know Glock
pistols are known for the that.

Please list the mods you have done or seen. This thing
is cheap enough, that I won't cutting on it, to get it
like I want it.

I intend to take it to the range tomorrow, so I'll report
back on that.

Thanks!

John

Bolt tube cover and charging handle cover from Tacticool Products
The bolt tube cover one of the first things I put on my Sub 2K, so much more comfortable.

Metal upgrade front and rear sight.  Tandemkross
Quad rail (rail rotates so rifle can still fold with a red dot), front sight upgrade and muzzle brake. Red Lion Precision

I got to test fire prior to the
local pistol match and then
ran the course of fire twice
with it.

I had one failure to feed, which
was the second round from my
22 round glock mag. Other than
that, it ran great with factory ammo
and my 180 gr reloads. Probably
100 rounds total last night.

It was sighted in pretty good from
the factory. I fired a few rounds from
the shooting benches, 25 yards.

It ran like a champ.

I ordered a PA red dot for it last
night.

So far, it's a keeper.

Later!

John

Mine only likes round nose .40"S&W, which is tough to find.

BB,
Is your S2K a Glock pattern?

What is the failure when you try
the .40 flat points?

Fails to feed w/ flat points & most hollowpoints, which is quite frustrating, as my Glock 23 eats anything you give it.

So it sounds to me like the nose
of the bullet is hitting & stopping
on the bottom edge of the chamber,
correct?

If so, it indicates to me that your magazines
have late release, so you could try on
a magazine to open up the forward portion
of the feeds lips to try & get an earlier
release.

If it does work, modify 2 or 3 and dedicate
them to the S2K.

Let me know what you think.

I would not be happy if that was so with
mine.

Also, have you contacted Kel Tec
about it?

No, I'm not happy w/ it, not going to modify magazines to make it work, and have not contacted KelTec about it.  Rather low priority.

put the PA red dot on a 45 degree mount screwed into the side of the handguard so you can still fold it.

Second Range report...

I added a Primary Arms Red Dot Reflex

And I installed it like this to preserve the
folding capability, which I think is one
it's most important features.

We made a quick trip to the range yesterday,
late in afternoon, so we didn't have a lot of
time. So of course I forgot the Allen wrenches
that are required for sight in adjustments!

So I decided to shoot a few rounds for GP,
but expecting it to be not even close, but
it turned out to be so close, that I probably
won't adjust it at all.

My first group of 3, was at about 10 yards,
1.5" low & 1" left. The 1.5" low, I attributed
to the height of the sights over the bore, so
that was no problem with the elevation.

My buddy had taken an AR to check out
with his new red dot, so I intended to put
the Kel Tec away, and help him with his
AR. After several rounds from his AR
which verified his zero was adequate,
he asked to shoot the Kel Tec, which
I was happy to do.

After I saw a few groups he shot,
which were a little to the right, I
realized that it was a trigger control
issue for me, along with a new gun.

We backed up to about 45 yards,
eventually, so he could work with
his rifle a little more, I started shooting
at some 10" steel round plates, and I
was hitting just about every round
with good squeezes. After several
rounds at the plates, hits became
almost effortless.  We were both
impressed.

Also, I tried a few round left handed
and found it amazingly comfortable
to still pick up the dot with my left
eye & get effective rounds on
target.

Not to belabor this report, I am very
happy with my purchase of the
S2K as an effective pistol caliber
carbine with great transportability.

I did buy a G4 Glock 22, so I have
a fully compatible hand gun, as it's
mate. I'll add a weapons light or 2 &
I'll call this package done.

Be safe!
