Received, cleaned and shot my Evo earlier today. Apologies in advance for the cursory review. (Imageshack not be agreeable).
The pistol came fairly clean with factory oil and light grease in a cardboard box (sim to a SCAR). Finish is what I would consider average and about what I'd expected on a polymer gun. The smooth and rough spots create some variation in texture but not enough to distract. Everything feels decently well-made except for the selector, which looks and feels cheap. However, it does have a positive click. I'll be buying the first aftermarket one I see. I could also see a replacement charging handle as well because this one seems quite small. It fits the gun well but some of you guys with big hands might find it annoying. I didn't find the grip and grip angle to be as awkward as it sometimes looks in pictures.
The field strip is simple with one captured pin holding everything: trigger pack pops out, pull handle rearward, pull bolt and spring down and out. Tough to clean this barrel without a boresnake - good thing it comes with one.
Ran one mag (nice quality) through it with a single-point sling with no issues. Broke a lot of clay pots. Ergonomics are nice, but they would obviously be even better with a brace, cover or stock. Feels solid without being too heavy or cumbersome.
Recoil was minimal - although I felt it a little more compared to my departed MP5 (different gas though so not surprised). Not much flash signature. Sound has a nice deep crack to it. Barrel threads look good. Action is smoother than I expected. The trigger is a bit creepy but the break is pretty sharp.
Overall, I'm happy to add this to my collection (and now know I won't be messing with the MPX). I wasn't as excited for the release as some are but it's certainly a nice little package for what it is. CZ is going to make a killing with these. If you're excited for your order, stay excited, it'll be worth the wait.
