Well finally got my tax stamp.

I assembled it with a 6 inch barrel tonight along with a standard a2 flash hider.

I traded my buttstock on accident and my magpul one won't work with the commercial buffer tube.

So I will get pics and a range report this weekend. Should be fun.

Got my stamp for a JRC 45 three weeks ago...have not been able to ship the barrel out to be cut and threaded at 5.5" yet.

A loose barrel nut allowed the barrel to shift a bit and buggered up the indexing pin grove in the barell....so have to decide if I want to give this barrel a try or order a new one and have it cut.

The wait and other competing projects makes me a little sad.

You will love it. Shot mine today and while quite a bit louder, it was a blast to shoot and handles so much nicer then the 16 inch barrel.

It's not the first ever, but it's still a rare breed.  POST UP PICKS!

There's a guy in Dallas that is really reasonable and does good work. I need to find out about sbr paperwork.
I just got my cans and have had fun learning about pistons and thread pitch; maybe I can use my octane45 on my JRC 9mm since I've never shot it at all yet!

Has anyone shot a full size JRC with a can?

We need to see pics!!

Thanks to this thread I dropped my SBR form 1 for my JRC into the mail on Thursday, the same day SBRs became legal in WA state. It had just never occurred to me that this would be a good SBR candidate. But being able to get factory replacement barrels and the conversion kits makes this a very easy PCC to convert and reconfigure.

Yes.  I've got a JRC in 9mm and a 45 Osprey can.  It was a bunch of fun!  No sub-sonic ammo so there was some down-rang crack, but it was still hearing safe.  I've posted this photo a bunch so the JRC people here are probably getting sick of it, but here is mine:

Thanks 03.
I have an octane 45; what piston are you using? Probably doesn't matter since silencer shop is out of them.
Oh yeah, my JRC is in 9mm.

Pics!

I cut the barrel down under the supervision of my dad. We are both trained machinists. Was really easy and may make a 4.5 or 5 inch barrel with the spare when the suppressor gets approved. Time will tell.

Notes:

Shoots federal 9mm flawlessly.
Shoots reloaded, middle of the load range 115gn FMJ flawlessly
Shoots subsonic 147 grain reloads flawlessly.

I couldn't be happier

Price on the fixed barrel things from buds?
Approximate time on the sbr business?
Thanks.

I think fixed barrel mounts for suppressors are only 30-40.

Took me 6 months on the SBR paperwork.

I just ordered my fixed barrel adapter; $70 delivered!

Sheiitt. Oh well, what the hell. I'll beready if I ever get time for the range.

In my case buds worked out cheaper(tax in TX)even with free shipping from SS.

Finally got my barrel threaded and out to the range...ran like a champ...pretty decent accuracy at 25yds offhand, no real accuracy testing.  Just burned through about 150 rounds of 45 without issue.  My Tirant 45 is light enough that it still balances pretty nice.

That looks awesome. What length barrel did you end up using?

It looks like yours is about an inch longer then mine.

AAC tirant came in yesterday.

I can't wait to try it out.

I'm already looking at doing a 4.5 inch barrel to go with the 6 inch.

I went with a 7.5" so the threads would clear the handguard in case I needed to get a wrench on anything....and if I shot it unsuppressed I did not have to deal with muzzle blast inside the handguard.

However, one of these days I might just whach another few inches off.  I like the can recessed inside the handguard a bit more.

ZY, you shortened the barrel but left everything else stock, correct?

I think it's time to dig mine out and start to play with it!
Oh, and send off some paperwork.

Yep,

Just put it back together and started running it.

Oh, and Eform Form1s ( you can file yourself at home) are only taking 4-5 weeks now....jump on it!
