I don't know of one comercially available, but I do know that one can easily mount the flat polymer and/or metal rails on the wooden forearm with screws, if one is so inclined. Not sayin' it's recommended, just that it can be done.
ETA: And the "traditional" Thompson owners don't seem to care much for the more tactical look either. |

I do remember a pic / article from a guns n ammo magazine when I was a kid with a 1921/28 Thompson with a red dot mounted on the barrel with hose clamps , and the article said it worked pretty well

I have a Thompson TA5 pistol and I'm debating adding a lower picatinny rail to the horizontal foregrip. A laser sight sure would help when aiming the pistol.
Since this is a modern semi-auto, closed bolt gun, I'm not too worried about the "authenticity" of it. If I had an original full-auto Tommy gun, that'd be a whole different matter. |

I have a full wood working shop. I am going to make new furniture for my tommy gun out of santos mahogany. I am goin to extend the hand guard to resemble the short barrel version. I don't like all that barrel sticking out. I also thought about adding a rail to the bottom. I do realize this will add weight but were talking about a tommy gun here. I am goin to change the shape of all the stock parts to better fit REAL people. The hand guards are way to slim, the pistol grip is a joke and the but stock is a terrible design.
I will probably add a rail to the hand guard for a light. Will post pics when I am done. |
