It is painful...I have one and want another. Finally contacted a gun shop near my beach property, he gets them in once and a while. We're both involved with BSA so he put my name "at the top of the list"...I'll wait for it.

The ammo was somewhat dated and I imagine that the rifle needs also to go through a break-in period so I hope that my experience today will improve considerably the next time that I head to the range.

I had the same issue. I was using the 115 grain ammo and it would jam up once in a while. I did a little research on KTOG, there were other people that had the same issue. What I found out was after a 500 round break in using 124 grain ammo, you can shoot pretty much anything, except for hollow points. I still keep using the 124 grain, just because I bought so much of it. It is dead on at 25 yards, my wife loves to shot it too.

Back to the OP. I had issues with the aftermarket mags, wouldn't seat properly, fall out of the gun or it would jam. I have used nothing but the Glock mags, 17 round, 10 round or 33 round and had no issues at all.

I did not realize the SUB 2K was in short supply. I stopped at Shooters in Jax, FL yesterday, and while polite, they basically told me to just forget it.
I called CDNN (their newest catalog has them) this morning and the guy was downright rude - he could have just as well told me to "FOAD"; the dealers were getting any they got in anytime soon.

When I started looking I wasn't really sure I wanted one, now I can't live without one!

Well Kel-Tec says they making and shipping SUB2K's. I put my name on the waiting list with a dealer in Dallas.

They are a company that is in a constant state of backorder so that is probably the best way to go about it

Your lucky. No gun stores would even take my money for a preorder Sub2000. It might have been because I wanted a certain model instead of whatever showed up on their shelves.

Its a tough game. The way the allocation works at most distributors it can be hard to get a gun if you are a smaller shop. I really wish Kel Tec would bump up their production a little.

I'm planning to be at the gun show when the doors open tomorrow to look for one, but I don't have high hopes. It's been... a hair over five months since I've seen one in the wild, and it was used with a $500 pricetag on it.

I requested a quote via the CMC Government Supply "www.cmcgov.com" website for exactly what I wanted. They had a fair price. I do expect a long wait, but if Kel-Tec is really making&shipping them it should happen. I had been thinking about getting a SUB2K for my Glock 33 rnd mags for quite a while.

So the show had one Sub2000, hard chromed, G17 version, new for $450. I also saw a KSG for $1200 and a couple of SU-16 versions for $500 each.

I finally got mine Sunday after visiting countless gun shows this past year. First 2000 I'd seen out of all of them and it was the only one there. Lucky me it was the exact one I wanted. 40 S&W Glock

I have not been able to find hardly any KT products in the hands of any distributers as of late.

Oh well, the dealer gave me a quote and I send in the order complete with payment info and FFL. They called tonight and said they would not honor the quote and canceled the order. According to them Kel-Tec is making so few that the wait could be in years. I sensed that they would not be doing any further business with Kel-Tec.

I guess I will take another route to a pistol caliber carbine. Maybe I'll just wait on the Glock carbine.

It is pretty frustrating being on the dealer end. The thing that really gets me is all the advertising they do. There is just no need to advertise when you cant deliver product

I've been seeing a lot fewer PF9, P-11, P3AT, and P32 pistols at gun shows, but I don't know if it's because Kel-Tec can't keep up production, or because the demand for table space is so much greater with all of the pocket pistols on the market now.

Yes, I have, but I always just assumed it was an aftermarket finish.

May have to get another one, myself...

Something I'm not sure everyone realizes:

With the Sub2K, if it takes anything other than the Glock mags, you can make it take any of the other choices (other than Glock) by changing out the mag catch. Beretta, S&W, Sig - They're all convertible. The Glock mag guns are Glock only- they can't be changed to anything else.

SO if you want a Beretta mag gun and you find a S&W mag gun at a good price, take it. This pops up from time to time on the KTOG forums (Keltec Owner's Group). The catches aren't listed on the website, but apparently if you give them a call it's only a few dollars for the catch.

they sent me the part to convert for free. they sent me the entire mag release assembly but it looked like a bitch to change the entire thing out so i just pulled the two screws and changed the metal catch itself.

I waited a few months to find mine calling gun shops every week. I finally found one and may have over paid for it but if you find one you better grab it because as I was walking out the door a guy was asking for one. Best truck gun ever and worth every penny.
