Still needs a few finishing touches but its up and running just fine.
Just a size reference against a SKS.
This is what it used to look like befor I reconfigured it. Its now 7.75 lbs rather than the over 10 it used to be without mags. ![]() |

That would be a German Sports GSG-522 pistol with some sort of addition to make it look like a Kriss, a little. I'd be cautious about getting that put on yours. That might qualify as a forward pistol grip.

I ditched the "parascope" and added a spare battery holder for the SPARC and an IDF sling (because they rock).

That might qualify as a forward pistol grip. I knew it was a GSG, but I'm looking for a carbine, not a pistol, so no NFA issues there. I'm not sure, my brain is broken half the time, and doesn't work right the other half, but I think I read a ruling from the ATF that said that a magwell grip didn't constitute a forward grip for the purposes of creating an AOW. |

the one poster is correct. it is a development mule to make the GSG5PK safer to fire, while adding picatinny rails to virtually every available spot. I found the GSG's foregrip too short to hold safely and putting pressure on the magazine caused misfeeds. The part will use the existing forward mounting location to secure it to the pistol. As you can see the part is not presently attached to the pistol, it it simply being dry fit to check for clearances..
I would be willing to manufacture another one but am also unsure of final status as far as the ATF is concerned. Does this turn the pistol into an AOW or SBR? Hard to say by definition.. Also, as these are run on a cnc machine and take about 1-1/2 hrs to run the price would be pretty high - like $250 high. That's too much to justify in my mind. Of course I made it for myself for free. as you can see, the fit is pretty tight and the feel is phenomenal. It is manufactured out of abs and is coated with a textured rubber coating. |

after some research I do not think the add-on would be considered a forward pistol grip, as it does not allow the thumb to grip around it. Rather it acts as an angled foregrip which forces the thumb to go up over the barrel.

Logically I'd say it's no more a vertical grip than the magwell on an AR pistol, but we're talking about the ATF and their inability to read the constitution and figure out that they don't have the right to make laws. That said, I'd want it for a carbine. I've designed and run some pretty complicated CNC parts, lots of Delrin both CNC and manual, and know exactly what you mean about expensive. For a few years I was working at a shop that converted Taigs to CNC, and it took me forever to cut all the parts. Really wished I had an automatic tool changer. Now I just have a manual lathe in the garage and it's some how more relaxing doing everything by hand. No idea how that works out. |

My Sterling 9mm Carbine. Self made barrel shroud and Picatinny rail with red dot and laser. I have created a photobucket account to attempt this since my Flickr account always failed.
