I picked up a Winchester 1894 30WCF from my friends shop.

Serial looks to put it at 1920-21 manufacture. I love the used look on the wood and how the finish has worn down.

Anything I should look at in a rifle of this age?  Will it be fine shooting modern 30-30 ammo through it?

I figured I would find a good video on how to break it down and clean it real well first.

Check the headspace as it tends to grow in high round count Model 94s due to the rear locking lugs, but there should be no particular problems with a 1920s vintage Model 94.

They are not overly hard to fully strip, but if you want to avoid that, just remove the stock and fore end and then use an aerosol gun scrubber loosen and then blow all the crud out of the action.  Then oil it inside and out with an aerosol gun oil (NOT a loosening oil like WD 40). Let it drain over night in a drip pan, and then reassemble it.

"modern" 30-30 ammo is the same pressure spec as 1895.  Its just made more recently.

That's what I figured. I just wanted some reassurance I suppose.
