the 464 is a very nice lever action
your reflex sight is on backwards |

It looks like it adds a lot of bulk to a handy lever gun. It could be handy in certain situations so I don't completely hate it.
|
|
OP, I'm gonna need you to go sit in the corner and think about what you just did.

It's definitely unique looking! I'm starting to look towards a lever action as a quiet yet fast shooting suppressor host, this looks like it could be awkward but I'd like to handle to one!

I cannot imagine that would be comfortable or practical working the lever without some SERIOUS breakthrough in design.
|
|
I would never own a long gun of any kind with a pistol grip that isn't an autoloader.
|
|
|
I'd shoot one if someone handed it to me, but I doubt I'd buy one. If I wanted a lever action rifle that handles like an AR15 I'd look into those lever action ARs I remember seeing info on out of England a while back.

i would suspect moving the stock inline with the bore, would require moving the sights up significantly

For ban-staters & other countries, fine. It would be helpful if you could use AR or AK rails & AR or AK pistol grips. Perhaps mold the lever to the A2 pistol grip; user can change it, but if the angle changes it's on the user.
Make for an interesting .357" pistol. |

Even though I live in a State that restricts magazines to ten rounds or less, I would still not buy one. I think it is a great idea. I'd like to try one but doubt I'd buy one.
Why blue? I think the blue coloration hurts your initial presentation. |

View Quote The center of gravity is located at the same position than with the original one (give or take a few tenth of an inch) and the weight of the gun is quite unchanged. But true. Handing a gun with a prominent pistol grip is very different from a rifle with a straight stock. |

But unfortunately, the AR15 grip won’t fit on the 464’s receiver. The 464 receiver is larger than the lower receiver of an AR15 (to be more precise, the part of the AR15 receiver that fit the grip). To do so you would have to put the grip in a much rearward position. And it would be very difficult to pull the trigger. |

Here it is: http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii553/Buldo5Wichester1894/Black%20lever_zpscabgtlv0.jpg NOTA: Just like the AR grip, the AK grip won't fit on the frame of the 464's reciever. View Quote Looks much better. We can imagine there's still brown wood there instead of blue plastic. |

What is the purpose of the pistol grip? I can kinda see wanting a telescoping/folding stock but I don't see what advantage the grip gives me. All I see are negatives. Design a more traditional looking stock that has a couple inches of adjustment for LOP, and maybe even folds. That would be more interesting I think.

I would rather see a lever gun that accepted AR magazines rather than adding a pistol grip

A pump would make more sense IMO. Problem is a lot of the pumps have shitty accuracy. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I like the idea of a short, folding stock .44mag or 30-30 all around utility rifle. It's looks are "non traditional", I don't have any problem with that. Others will.
I tote around a light, handy 44 mag pump carbine right now and love it for a large variety of (rural northern AZ mountain) uses, ammo matches up with my N-frame as well. Make them real, make them short, make them light, I'll buy one if they're rugged & reliable. And in 44 mag. 357 mag would be more popular, imo. Lightweight rucksack/truck/campsite guns in decent, closer range bigger bore thumping calibers have a place in the world. Responsible hiking/camping Dads might just buy them. Not owning any current trend/fad guns.....I could be completely wrong tho . Tweakers, creeps and feral dogs are just about everwhere now. Super light packable with a caliber that hits hard up close, I dig. A 45-70 based model would just kill it, again imo. But I love the 45-70. |
