Won a marlin 1894 45/70 in a raffle.  Front sight is canted left side 5 degrees.  Read about marlin going south after remington bought them and this being common place.  Anyone fix it themselves?  Didn't even want 45/70, so more of a trader/seller rifle.  Seems marlin is the new century arms.

Few of us "need" a 45/70 but they are a hoot and a half.
The whole thing of Marlin being bought out and factories all over the east each making parts and pieces and then having some monkeys hammer them together makes me crazy and sad.

I would try to get Marlin/Remington to fix it

All 3 of my Marlins (1895G, 336BL, and a Glenfield 30) are JM guns. Having said that, canted sights are not new on lever guns regardless of manufacturer.

In this day and age or modern firearm manufacturing, something as simple as this shouldn't exist.  I have dealt with century arms on a canted AK-47 sight.  Sent it in 3 times.  They finally got it right.  Sold it as it was a bad taste in my mouth.  I am not going to go through that again.  Some other sucker is.  Besides, I want a 357 lever action anyways.  NOT a marlin at this point.  Was hoping for a simple answer and still the thread is young.

Here is your simple answer - call Marlin and have them fix it.

Or

Sell it to me cheap and you don't need to worry about it, i'll even pay shipping. Always can use another one.

1894 Marlin is pistol cartridges--45 colt, 44 mag, 357 mag. 45-70 is the 1895 and 1895G.

In any case, yeah, fuck Rem Marlin, have those assholes fix it on their dime, then either keep it or sell for some  decent $$$
