Does anybody have good things or bad things to say about the 336? It is 01 so before 08-09 when apparently some guns had issues!

Only issue "some" have had with the micro-groove barrels is problems shooting cast bullets.  This is more an issue with sizing than the barrel.  If you stick with jacketed bullets even that won't be an issue.

Personally I hate paying for a bullet I can make myself.  So, slug the barrel, size accordingly, and enjoy.
