I do, but it is the only cowboy I have though.

Old school marlin.

I have shot it a couple of times.

When my brother shot it, he said I should put a scope on it because he thought it was extremely accurate.

Don't have any pics of it.

In my personal opinion, .44 is the least accurate of the handgun calibers in an 1894.
I have shot .357 Mag, .44. Mag, 44-40 Win, and .45 Colt, of which I prefer the .357 and .45
Plus, if you reload, you can get the .45 Colt to (almost) .44 Mag levels.

But, I have to admin, all 1894 I have shot were 20".

I have the cowboy model with the octagon  heavy barrel .  I have  mounted a tang mount aperture  sight that works well but can get knocked down easy. I went with it to be legal in cowboy matches . Better would be a receiver mount aperture like the Lyman.

My model doesn't have micro grove but the Ballard cut rifling . This works quite well with cast bullets and I feel the gun is very accurate. From a rest maybe 3" at 100 yards and I have 60 year old eyes.

I have never shot jacketed , only 200-240 gr cast . Not tried heavier bullets but word is the twist rate isn't suitable for anything over 240.

I have a warm  240 gr load I worked up for my S&W 629 with 2400 powder which gives me almost 1200 out of the pistol and 1800+ in the rifle.
I am pleased one load works well in both . I suppose I could get a bit more speed in the rifle with a bit slower powder but I like the simplicity of one load for both guns.

Marlin used to claim it would work with 44sp but I have found the longer 44mag feeds better . Semi wadcutter will work but a round nose flat point
feeds quite a bit smoother.

Mine is a very slick looking gun with great wood. Current guns from New York are rough as a cob and have nasty looking and fitting stocks

I have an 1894 CBC 45 colt stamped JM and a buddy of mine wants to sell his 20 year or so old Marlin .44, I'l  have to call him back and ask some more questions. Talked to him briefly today and he stated he was wanting to sell it.

I have a 44mag Marlin and its one of my favorite rifles. I reload so ammo is not that bad and because its 44mag I can take it to the pistol range. Its very accurate with iron sights and everyone that shoots it ends up with a big grin.

I've got an 1894CB that I just shortened the barrel to 18" and the mag tube to 3/4 length. Haven't shot it yet, but it feels great. In .44 I don't expect a big velocity drop......but I could be wrong.
