THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I've been reading up on my 44 mag, and on gunblast.com , paco kelly wrote about using a garrett 310 hammerhead in his rifle.
I was under the impression that those "big" loads wouldn't cycle / work in a lever action. the garrett website says to long for rifles.

what do you guys think / know??? will they work? I would hate to waste the money ordering a box and not be able to use them./

thanks

I'm no expert, but IIRC the Win '94 action was originally designed around cartridges like the .30 WCF/.30-30, which to my knowledge are a fair bit longer than even 310gr .44mag. I'd think that the feed assembly/parts in a '94 could be tuned to allow feeding of abnormally-long .44 loads, if they can't already do so. I know the Marlin '94 and Win '92 are designed around shorter OAL of the cartridge, seems to me that's what the Garrett website would intend with their warning.

That's just my take though.

Work up a load that cycles in YOUR rifle.
