That's ridiculous.

You said "highest quality." If you want best value that is different.

Yes, highest quality, not most expensive.

Allow me to clarify..... Best performance in a moderately priced (<$200) unit.

I assure you, while the Bosch products are very high priced, they are also excellent quality. As far as your $800 priced unit goes, not sure which one you are looking at but it must be pretty spectacular. Here is one in the $200 range like you requested:
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1274669-REG/bosch_iir_50850_sr_ir_illuminator_850nm_short.html

Of course, the wider range you want, the more select the options become. Anything over 90 degrees is....... well , pricey in my experience if you want good distance as well.

I searched Bosch IR at your recommendation and units in the $600-$800 range populated the results.

The linked unit above is exactly what i was looking for.

Thank you.

Found it cheaper here:

No affiliation or knowlege of seller. I have used BHP before and they are gtg but they are more expensive.

I'm of the understanding that 850nm wavelength performs better than the 940nm?.

850 has a longer range, but the red glow is detectable with the naked eye.
940nm is completely invisible.

make sure whatever cameras you have are compatible with the 940.

Is there any reason why you don't want to use a motion sensor light in the cam area? I am leaning more in this direction instead of ir light source.

In true ARF fashion, I utilize both traditional and IR lighting.

My outdoor cams record 24/7.... my traditional area lights are on a timer to reduce insect attraction and light pollution.

IR is superior to traditional lighting as far as the cameras are concerned anyway, IMHO.

They just showed up. Look very high quality.

Didn't come with power supplies

Now I'm searching for a decent supply or two... so much china made crap...

Suggestions?

Update:

They're great lights.

Very compact, low profile. Put out a ton of light. They're  about one sixth the size of the large white IR flood lights available on amazon..... and put out nearly the same amount of light.

The light is very even with very little hot spots in the FOV.

They come with an assortment of diffusers to customize the spread of light. I have mine set up with the widest beam option and they still easily illuminate 60 feet out.

The intensity of the light can be adjusted up or down to accomidate whatever lighting levels you may need.

I would recommend them.
