Has anyone ever painted their safe before?

I have a lower tier cannon 64 gun safe that is bolted to the floor in the garage. It is currently shiny black. I would prefer to have it be flat black.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

? So sand and paint ! Reprime rust spots. Paint to cover.
Flat Black can be a bastard to get perfect.
Prep work is 90%. If it looks like crap before paint it will look like crap after.
Or.... Scratch shiny paint with scotch Brite pad to dull.
Rattle can should work just fine.

For flat black, spray it with PlastiDip.  If you don't like it, peel it off.
