I want motion to trigger recording on a security camera, but would prefer the camera to be mounted inside my house. All such cameras I have found use infrared (PIR) detectors, which are blocked by glass. Can anyone point me to a video camera that uses video motion detection instead?

I'm no security camera wizard, but have been monkeying with my own systems for a few years now.  There are some here who can correct me if I'm wrong.

Image-analysis motion detection will be a function of whatever software you're using to capture and manage the video streams, not of the camera itself.  I suspect Blue Iris or any of the other popular security cam packages can do it.

Arlo Q uses pixel based motion detection and will work through glass. There's probably others too but that's the only one I know of off the top of my head.

How about a remote sensor?

Yeah, that's the kind of system I am looking for - thanks. Hopefully others will chime in with other options.

The Arlo Q does work thru glass (during the day really well) but if you try and use the night vision, get reflections off glass.
