I have a 36 HD IP Axis Camera system.  Cameras are setup on motion zone detection.  All footage is sent to a NAS device.  Reviewing the footage is not choppy and plays back smooth. But when taking that recorded video to make a DVD of something that occurred the recordings are in multiple short around 1 minute overlapping video clips.  Why would they be so short when on the time line it appears to be solid motion recordings?  Should I bump up my pre and post motion detection record times?
Is this normal for HD IP camera systems?  I have previous experience only with DVR systems that the cameras are always recording.
