It is indeed an Allied Gary, built right at the end of their existence.  It is only an E rate, no UL listing.

I don't know anything about this stuff.  I can't decide whether it looks amazing or if it looks like one of those big metal cabinets you can buy for tools at Home Depot.  That sort of door design doesn't look very sturdy...

C'mon man! DETAILS!

What was it's prior use? What is it's future use? can we see inside?

Who's idea was it to tear off the exterior wall? Is that an old bank drive up & ATM?

1" solid plate all the way around.  It's pretty sturdy.  Sturdy enough that the FDIC insured about $100,000 worth of cash storage within.

Bank.  Probably will convert it into a high security gun safe.  Nothing exciting inside, it's completely empty.  Large enough for bunk beds.  Seriously.

We cut walls, roofs, and floors out of bank buildings all the time to remove things too large or heavy to go through the front doors.  In this particular instance, the bank was a mobile unit.  A slightly heavier built double wide trailer.  They were getting ready to remove them from the property, and the safe had to be removed to do so.

About half of that.

So I guess they paid you to remove it and you get to keep it for free?

In this case, we purchased it from them, but it can work every way.  Sometimes they get money from us, sometimes we end up with money from them, and sometimes it's a wash.

But even when they pay us to haul them off, it's not the same as Joe homeowner wanting to do the same thing.  We have the equipment, experience, the multi-million dollar liability policies, and the workman's comp.
