One question tho Does it stick to the safe carpet good? View Quote I did not stick it to safe carpet, so I have no idea. I stick it to the metal frame of the safe door frame. View Quote Hmm, I checked my safe last night and my frame has carpet on it. I will try to figure sometime out because my parts will be here on Saturday. |

I have an LED strip set up that I bought on Ebay. Mine is powered by 8 AA batteries. I velcroed the battery holder to the bottom left inside corner of the safe. I chose to put a toggle switch just inside the door. My wife accidentally left the light on and 7 days later the lights were glowing dimly but still glowing. I replace the batteries and now know that the batteries will last about 150-160 hours. With the batteries I don't have to worry about cords or outlets to plug the lights into, or power failures.

Nice work so far but you're not finished. Buy another strip and do an under shelf / downlighting thing. It's a pain, but worth the hassle - especially when you have the whole thing full.

You have me wanting to install the lighting in mine as well. The only issue I can see is the motion detector is getting some real shit reviews for reliability on the feedback.
Looking at Amazon, I noticed that you can buy the same length strip LEDs with the power supply and the multi color shit for the same price as you spent for them separately. Is there a reason not to get the multi color kit? Not that I intend to use anything but white. I need to find teh same place selling the LED strip and power supply so I do not have to pay shipping. |
