I didn't find anything tacked that said not to do this, so here we go.  I might have an option to buy a Browning Gold Prosteel (G6326, FWIW) for $900ish.  It's supposedly 60x27x24, but I had phone connection issues with the guy.  I think the age is 10 to 15, but the Browning guys couldn't tell exactly what model it was without the serial number, which the seller couldn't locate somehow.

Ultimately, is this worth pursuing?  It seems like a solid enough deal, but I bow to the experts, considering my complete lack of safe knowledge.
