THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Link to what I'm considering: http://www.amazon.com/Flexible-Strip-LED-Ribbon-Ledwholesalers/dp/B002QQ1YOM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1335285664&sr=8-1 |

I paid far more than that locally, for a set of 4, 2 foot pieces. 120V, works ok. Getting them to stick can be a bear, but it works. I ended up doing two rows, soldering phone wire between the two. It works. |

I am in the process of getting materials together to make a lighting system for my safe using the same type of led strips. Im going for 12V system, operating on batteries.Safe should be delivered by the end of the week and am just waiting for leds to come in the mail. Unfortunately I purchased from Chinese seller on Ebay so shipping could be a couple weeks.

If I were you I'd get this set:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004RZQAOE/ref=oh_details_o06_s01_i00 It's essentially plug and play. Also, COSTCO has a 18' LED setup in our local store for ~$17-18 I think. It's a rope setup though. But a bit less expensive and it's power supply seems to be a bit smaller. I put the kit you posted from amazon in my safe. Used simple plastic covered staples from lowes that holds it against the sheetrock. The only rub is the power supply is so big. The one I linked above is half the size, and I feel looks a bit less obtrusive. IT's above the desk in the kitchen and for some reason it seemed easier than the other. YMMV |

I use a magnetic switch. Google 8601 Magnetic Switch
Its 5-10 dollars and with it I bought some light strips from Elemental LED. Light comes on when I open the door and off when I close the door. I have the switch (both sides) mounted with magnets. Very simple to setup. |

Id stay away from litetechauto, had to wait 3 weeks for my order, owner lied about shipping, kept telling me "oh ill ship it tomorrow". When the package did finally arrive, they screwed up the order, I paid for 2 kits and received one. Owner states he cannot reply to emails as he is always traveling. Avoid, plenty of other good options to light up a safe. |

I had to cut up the wiring to fit my safe anyways. ![]()

I saw liteteachauto at the local gunshow and had to buy the product. Works great as advertised, he also has a three year warranty on his products in case something doesn't work. Bought the extra A/C adapter since there's a pass through hole in the back of the safe. bright as crap, definitely worth it.
Join calguns and mention your a member to get a free additional smaller light strip thrown in. |

I used the white adhesive-strip LEDs in my safe... they work great. Run them inside the door-sill edge, and they light the safe without blinding you.
I use a SensorPlug to switch it off-and-on (it senses motion when somebody opens the safe door) ![]() |
