I got board one night and decided to make a spreadsheet about Sturdy gun safes.  I think it's a useful tool when comparing Sturdy safes against other safes, so I've decided to share it with the hive.  The specs are for the base models with and without fire lining.

Nice spread sheet. Just wish you had worked it out a few months ago

BTW, Everyone that I dealt with at Sturdy was very helpful.

My new safe ought to be here Tuesday. I got the 4824-6, not fire lined, with the extra 5' 7gauge sheets welded on the insides. Can't wait to get it in place. Thanks for the chart. Looks great.

Wow, I'm jealous. The fire lining decision is really eating at me.

Nice single page comparision.  Saves a lot time looking at web pages and writing notes.

I too am undecided about the fire insulation.  Have to buy next larger sized safe to recover the space lost it.

I'm thinking I'm going to go with the non-lined safe.  I work from my home, so its rare that it would be unoccupied for more than 1-3 hours except once or twice a month.

Well my new Sturdy arrived last week and got installed Sunday. Here's a few pictures for those who are curious about the looks/finish. I bought the 4824-72 non fire lined. It's HUGE, at least to me. I did do a custom interior since I wanted more shelf space than long gun space. It's the easy out interior and holds 18 long guns which for me is great, gives me a little growing room. The shelves are rated at 150 pounds per shelf but I think they'd hold more, they are built like a tank. Also had them add extra layers of 7ga steel to the interior walls for added strength. All in all, cost just at $2,800 delivered.

NICE, thanks for sharing.  How is the 7 gauge extra reinforcement welded, full length welds or tacked in places?

Looks like, top to bottom, there is three welds. I wouldn't call them tacks, they are all about 2 inches long each and very thick. The three weld are at the front and the back of the extra plates so six welds per plate. Seems like it'd be fine in a break in attempt.

I would agree, that would be more then enough.
