What's the ceiling made from?

Mine's currently standard issue ceiling tiles/dropped ceiling and I hate them.

I don't own an AK.
What if SHTF and all your guns and ammo break and you come across millions of 762 but then have nothing to shoot it in?

No machine guns, the belt feds are all semi autos. The only NFA are the SBR's. That's not the whole thing, there's about 250 in all.

The room is sealed quite well and there's the dehumidifier. Still need to keep things oiled and rust happens. I shoot most Sunday's, sometimes I take one out in the daylight and see rust that was unseen in the bunker.

I've had the same issue.  I've found that turning the lights out, and looking at the guns with a cheapo LED flashlight with a very cool bluefish tinted bulb makes the rust stand out, so I check once a month or so with the light.

Sometimes I'm not sure how it got to be that many... But the gun fairy just added a couple more. Got my first Barrett's;  M82A1 and an MRAD. Great package deal on them. Oh my aching Visa card!

This is the current state of my safe room. It will be getting finished over the winter. Drywall, epoxy coat the floor, benches and wall displays for the long guns.  The room is about 350sqft, so about half of it is cut off by the picture I took from one corner. I keep the guns on that side.

This room was the first thing planned before I built my house. Ive been wanting something like this for quite a while. We only finished the house about a year and a half ago, so it still has that "new car feeling". I cant help but smile every time I walk into it!

Ill post updates as I get things squared away. Im trying to decide on floor coating right now. Just did my garage with U Coat IT, so Im waiting a few weeks to see how it will hold up before I make a decision. It will likely get the epoxy since I dont want to run tile.

I went with TrafficMaster Allure Vinyl flooring for my gun room. It looks like wood or stone, snaps or glues together, requires no prep on the floor, and you could remove it quickly if you ever wanted to change it out. Water proof/water resistant depending on which type as well.

You wont regret it even a little. Its awesome to be able to take a few guns apart and leave them out and just shut a door not having to worry about things being secure. The cost isnt as much as people think it is.

You should take a look at gallow tech products.... great stuff, built real solid... not as cheap as slat board but definitely build for this specific application.

Ive been keeping an eye one some of their products. Definitely top notch stuff. Right now Im leaning towards a setup like you see at some clothing stores.

Yep, I know exactly what you describe.  If you want something that is a little more technical in looks, then perhaps look at wire grids... it's cheaper than slat wall.

If you like the slat style, then look at slatgrid, also cheaper, more tactical looking

I went with the gallow route myself, so far so good.

You might want to spend the time to start at the beginning on the thread and read through it.  There are several products mentioned, with pros/cons/costs/sources discussed at several points.  Lots of good info from lots of different folks and perspectives.

Its a PITA to go through some of the threads that have been going a while. Lots of people have deleted pics or gone over bandwidth and pics wont display. Ill set some time aside and see what I can find though. Thanks.

Looks good- a virtual clone to the expandable weapon rack stuff, but they've staggered the holes/slots every other column.  I can't tell from the pics much about the spacing- if they kept simialr spacing but staggered the rows I think you'd lose some "move it a little left or right" flexibility.  If they added offset rows between the existing ones, you gain some flexibility and that is a great improvement.

It appears to my eyes that the columns of holes are closer, but every only every other one is usable for a pure left/right shift.  And the vertical spacing is definitely much wider.

If they're cheaper (the EWS stuff is very costly) and doing the absolute most space-efficient layout is not a critical need, the new stuff looks like a great alternative.

I haven't purchased from Gallow Tech as of yet, but I spoke with the owner and sent him some pictures
to give him an idea of how many guns and type.  He sent me a drawing and an estimate for very quickly.
I hope to order from them this spring.

Thats awesome. Thanks for the info. I should have the drywall guy out of there in about 4 weeks. I'll snap some pictures and send them over and see what they suggest.

They're already proving they would appreciate my business. Spent 5 minutes on the phone with a fella named Bubba (Answered the phone "This is Bubba!" ) and Ive already got an email asking for dimensions so they can get something designed for me.
