I have a gen 2 mpx pistol. I'm looking for options for a direct mount to the keymod. I dont want to use another rail section. Is there or ARE there any flashlights that directly mount to the keymod? Like the Streamlight tlr 1, they attach via piccatiny rail. I wont to avoid attaching a rail onto the keymod THEN the flashlight on that rail.

Thanks

Thats really two questions: what light and how to mount it.   The Scout lights from Surefire and clones are a good choice.  Streamlight ProTac series is new, and also has lots of options.
Then there are  how to activate the light:  tape switches vs tail caps etc.

For keymod mounts on the MPX rail, Noveske Scout is what I like:

Offset rail mount also worked well for me:

Thats one of these:

Edit to add:

Due to the swell you can NOT use a 45 deg mount like so:

I tried

not looking for a mount. Just looking for a light that attaches directly the the keymod. Streamlight tlr, inforce wml all attach via piccatiny. I want something that attaches directly to the keymod itself. not sure if im wording it correctly or if there is even a light out that that is made specifically for keymod.

I think thats too specific.  I have never seen a keymod specific light.  Companies like modular.  They make one light and 6 mounts.   Far more cost effective that way.

1913 rail being the primary exception in the examples you mentioned

I like having a pistol light on my pistol caliber defensive weapon. I can run it on my pistol if need be.

It's discontinued but the Elzetta Mini CQB, out of the pacakge, attaches to keymod:  http://jerkingthetrigger.com/2015/01/20/mini-cqb-weapon-light-from-elzetta-and-impact-weapons-components/

I have an Arisaka body and tail, Malkoff head.   It has lived in various mount: the surefire offset rail, Noveske, magpul etc.  "Scout" is sort of standard size and the are a bunch of mounts.

Thanks.  I guess I've been out of the loop with regard to lights for a while.

Hey, I looked at the options and wasn't impressed, so that's the way I went. You're welcome.

Aside from the discontinued elzetta, I don't know of any flashlights that will mount directly to keymod.

You can mount a x300/tlr-1 upside down on the top pic rail.

Otherwise as others have mentioned, scout style body using a keymod mount of your picking. I used the iwc thorntail SBR mount for my scout m300b.

As mentioned, a Surefire Scout or Mini-scout will have the ability to swap the mount to a keymod capable mount that will mount the light directly to keymod.  I use Scout lights on many of my guns and they are built tough and backed by the Surefire warranty.  You can get good deals on Scout lights on Amazon, Ebay, and sometimes the EE on this site.
