Have they said anything to hint at that?

There was talk of it.  Not sure when it'll happen though.  I've been holding out for the factory SBR, but still nothing.

Found it.

When I spoke with a Sig factory rep he stated that a 16in model is coming.  The barrel will not be rifled the full length and will open up in diameter internally to allow the gas system to function. As a result it is not compatible with suppressors according to sig. He also confirmed gen 1 gun will not be compatible with other calibers.

One of my distributors is listing a 16" MPX.  It says a 13.something" barrel with perm attached flash hider.  I asked my Sig rep and he confirmed it....but I don't believe anything until I see proof.

Cabelas has had this listed for a while.

There was some discussion on that over on Sig Forum. According to someone there who spoke with SIG, the biggest issue is that the MPX is designed around needing a very short gas system, which on a long 16" barrel would cause too much back pressure so there was some sort of redesign needed.

Considering their selling every MPX they're making right now so I can't see them adding another model to their production line quite yet.

I'd imagine that can easily be fixed by adjusting the gas port diameter
