X2...has been a non-issue in my experience.

However, Sig does make a CO2 version of the MPX with ZERO blowback!

Full auto and in doors, I don't see a problem. My 4.5" MPX with my Octane 9HD gets gassy on a Mag dump indoors but it's not the end of the world.

Zero blowback. ..wow..seems like they designed that version better than the MPX 9mm.

From  other threads in the suppressor forum, the Octane has lots of blowback...guess it's inherent in its design.

Regardless whether it's indoors or out...excessive blowback is the same...but effects indoors is more noticeable than outdoors.  Lots of talk in other forums on mitigating blowback on ARs...wondering if those same mitigation techniques(RTV) can be applied to the MPX and if anyone has tried them.  If blowback doesn't bother you...great..happy  for ya.

It's a pointless argument because we give opinions based on our sensitivity to it.  Some are more delicate flowers than others.

Shot my MPX for the first time today. Barrel and handguard chopped to the K version. Over 400 rounds of various ammo. Herter's 115, PMC 115, AE 115, AE 147, Blazer aluminum 147, PPU 158, P+ Gold Dots 124, all was flawless. Both suppressed and unsuppressed. Octane 45 & YHM M9. This was out doors with a some wind. The only gassy ammo was the PPU 158. Flame from the ejection port was an anomaly. As it wasn't doing that until the last round. Grabbed the T1 micro from my AR and was damn accurate even with out sighting in.

Bad ASS I must say

Due to lack of confidence in the HK Parts design and TROS' logistical challenges with delivering product to customers in a timely manner, I ordered a Griffin Armament 3 lug adapter for my Octane 9 HD (w/ 3-Lug Mount).

The Griffin 3 lug adapter looks well made and upon closer inspection, appears to have addressed the issue with the MPX's taper nearing the muzzle. It looks like the bearing surface is against the muzzle end (as it should be for this application).

I'll follow up with thoughts on how well it mates with the Silencerco 3-Lug Adapter and whether contact is made against the Sig's muzzle end when tightened later this evening.

Perhaps I missed it but how did that adapter work with the octane 3lug mount? Thanks

That's pretty cool. Wonder if it need to be so long or if they were trying for a 16" length.

Did you hear back from Phil at IA about your inquiry on shorter fatter can? When I asked about 16" OAL integral upper they said they didn't have time to consider anything like that now

I handled two brand new gen 2 versions this week and while the finish and machining was clean on both, one was a very snug upper/lower fit and the other audibly rattled. Both the owners had not shot yet. Surprised to see the difference in fit.

Short Range Report:
1.  LaRue MBT trigger works perfectly in the MPX.  Freakin awsome upgrade for $125.
2.  The Elftmann Tactical push button also works well in the MPX.
3.  TiRant 45 works really well with the MPX.  Much less gas blowback(low to not noticeable) than the Multimount or the TiRant 9s.
4.  Hush 165gr ammo would not lock back the bolt on empty and I had a couple of misfeeds/failure to eject but is very quiet ammo.

Also, Centurion Arms CMR rail covers work well with the rail screws that came with the MPX.  Unity Tactical vertical grip also fits perfectly:

Sig CS sold me a bunch of stuff yesterday-- all not on the website, like a 4.5" MPX barrel, carbine length fat/suppressor MCX handguard and a 6.75" 300 cal-ex kit for MCX. (milking that 20% off coupon).

I was gonna get a patch as well, which IS on the website, but they do NOT sell that stuff over the phone.

The only items which are both web and phone orderable seem to be magazines.

The do seem to have an interesting retail sales model.

I think that I am back on the MPX.  After tiring of waiting on CZ to bring in more Scorpions, I almost bought an MP5k (MKE).  My better judgment prevented me from spending $2,000 ($1,700 for gun plus $300 in parts to sbr it) for a clone of a 50 year old design…  I also decided that the MPX is the only one that allows me to have both configurations that I’ve been considering:  I can chop the barrel to 4.5” and bury a suppressor under the handguard for the SD look, and buy the short handguard (when it becomes available) to swap out when not suppressed for the k look.

Questions:
1. Any word on when the MPX-K will be available and what the price will be?  This would obviously be the easier starting point, but I'm guessing that it probably won't be worth the wait (vs buying the 8" and cutting the barrel).
2. When I cut the barrel down, what thread pattern to use (13.5 LH, 1/2x28, 3 lug adapter)?  I have yet to buy a suppressor, so I'm not married to anything.  Leaning towards the Omega 9k.
3. What is the best online deal on the MPX-P that is available right now?

Yes, its some strange sort of lay-away.  Buy it now, but it does not charge card till it ships, which could be months away.   Make the most of the 20% coupon code.

Just an observation for those with gen 1 rails...  Mlok and keymod accessories will work with this rail. The holes line up with the threaded holes on the rail you just need to shave off the nubs on the back of the accessory. This will apply to rail panels, grips, offset light mounts etc...

Just spoke with Sig Customer Service - Great guy to talk to. MPX foregrip/hand stop was in stock and mags & telescoping stock will ship in a couple weeks. I wish I hadn't found this thread - it's costing me too much money

Received the keymod MPX foregrip/hand stop today, ordered at the end of January. Seems very nice, now to wait for the 4.5" hand guard!

Just called. Spoke to 2 different people to make sure the story was consistent. Foregrip/hand stop is not in stock and there is no concrete ETA.

Apparently Sig just shipped a bunch to dealers as I got numerous in stock notifications from various vendors last night and today.   Most had between 25-40 in stock but the numbers are dropping fast.  Both brace and non-brace models.

Get them while they are hot!

Now the newest project gun starts!  Thanks for all the info and reviews gents, much appreciated.

Does anyone know what aluminum they use in the MPX lower and upper receivers? Is it 7075?

Do you send in just the upper or is the barrel replaced too?

I've had good service out of my gen1 but kinda feel like why not get the gen 2 if it's no charge.

That I did not ask but should have.
He did say just send in the whole upper so I would assume.
