If I purchased one of these in pistol configuration and class 3 it, how hard is it to get that collapsible MP5 style stock for it?

Looks like the natives are getting restless!  I emailed today about the telestock I ordered on June 8.  I was told they're at the "mercy of their vendor" and they haven't seen them yet.  Sig isn't making these things themselves in-house?

I wonder what vendor is making them for Sig? I do know they are very high quality in construction.

you would be surprised how many manufacturers dont make anything in house that is sold to the public. Most of the time is mass production issues. They will have the capabilities to build the protoypes with the equipment they own. They decide on a specific design to mass produce and drawings are issued to several vendors that have passed their QAQC vendor qualification process and a bid with drawings for the components are sent out for quotation. A vendor or vendors are selected based upon time of delivery and cost. some of those factors crossing each other if deadlines are short and later deliveries can be acceptable based upon distribution dates.
So what sounds like happened is someone used the wrong drawing or held the wrong tolerance and no one is willing to take blame because of the rework involved. Most of these jobs are quoted so tight its like a science. Margins in the firearms manufacturing industry range from 8-10% most of the time, so taking a 100% hit on new material and labor is a big effing deal. Even if its rework, 10% is a big deal because that means you broke even and breaking even is truly losing money, not to mention someone elses deliveries will slip while you are reproducing the fixed product. Piss off other customers to satisfy another and you may find yourself without work from that customer next time around.

So in summary, I see the argument from both sides, but I also value transparency as a consumer. Sig may not be willing to divulge info on the vendor because they dont want to muddy the water and drag the boat out to sea. Itll turn into that he siad/she said drama. All i know is, we will get the stocks....one day.
