I bought the lower third version after seeing your pictures. So far I love it.

You should probably call Fortis for a commission check.

Dsully,

Do you like the Haley Thorntail mount over other mounts in this configuration?

With the Scout's bezel out front, does it get carbon-fouled from the hider's discharge?

Thanks.

ETA: looking back on your earlier photos, the Haley/Surefire hand-guard is shown with a can every time other than the breakdown shot above. That would answer my question if that's how it's run.

Stamp cleared! I'm waiting for SIG to offer a shorter K-handguard so I can chop the barrel down.

I do like it on short configurations. It placed the light further out and gives more realstate for your hand. Any bezel will get fouled near the end of a barrel. Having it in this configuration negates that. This suppressor is designated for this rifle. Doesn't get shot without it

Makes sense, the vaseline/whatever will catch the carbon and just wipe off later.

I am starting to get antsy waiting on my collapsible stock from Sig. Does anyone make a buffer tube adapter that mounts to the rear rail section? I have seen it done by groups but none sold commercially, in stock.

Nice.  Does that stock fold?  how do you like it?
Link Posted: 8/21/2015 4:01:19 PM EDT
[#26]
The stock does not fold.  It is the LWRC UICW stock kit.  I actually prefer this option.  We are awaiting our telescoping stocks.  The length of this stock and adapter closed is roughly equivalent to the telestock fully open, so other than a few inches you get when the gun is fully closed, this setup is optimal.  We measured this against one of our MP5A2s.  With the suppressor, this setup was still 1.5" shorter.

The can is an AAC TiRant45S.  We spun the barrel down to 4.5 inches and set 1/2x28 threads.  Then I used a 1/2x28 to Tri-lug from HK Parts.  The TiRant is using the TRIAD Tri-Lug adapter from AAC.

Another question: why use the Tri-lug rather than screwing the TiRant on directly with plain threads and a spacer? Is it a question of not working itself loose as it might with direct threading?

For what it's worth, I JUST SAW this same folding stock "IN THE WILD" at a Gun Store in Kennewick Washington, on a 16 in MCX.....

SO, unless there's a huge difference in mounting, I would say it's no longer "PRE-PRODUCTION"......

Looked good too....

If you go into the MCX Pages, and go thru the different Stock Options, it looks like it's called the "SAS STOCK"......

I personally feel that the trilug is far more secure when mounting underneath the hand guards.  I trust it more than direct thread.  When shooting and hot, the can backs off, not a chance I am willing to take.

Trilug is the tits. But I need to get my hands on another barrel before I send it off for modification. Anyone making aftermarket MPX barrels yet?

But doesn't the tri-lug nearly obligate you to using the can all the time? I mean, can you fire can-less when the muzzle ends under the hand guard? Would you prefer a tri-lug if you were using a muzzle that ends at the front edge of the hand guard?

ETA: "Obligate" as in using can on tri-mount or naked tri-mount?

For those of you waiting patiently on the factory Sig MPX collapsible PDW style stock, I got an update from Sig. Some parts to make the assemblies came in out of spec so there will be a longer wait. I placed my stock on backorder in May. Delivery was supposed to be August. Looks like it will be another couple months from here. The good news is my stamp will arrive any day now so I may settle for a fixed stock until the other arrives.

Kak Industry has the best value adapter so you can half ass your build until the real stuff arrives. Adapter block and 6 position tube (with buffer and spring you dont need) and stock for $80

Yes, but I will use the can all the time.  I wouldn't recommend firing it without the can there.  The barrel ends roughly where my hand is positioned on the forward grip.  Then again, I will shoot the gun with the can on it all the time until K handguards come out.  Even then, I will always use tri-lug until something better comes along.
