Fat MCXs need loving, too.

I got a Legacy 12" SD rail.

11.5" barrel with a Saker 556K. Set up like a German gun I once saw:

I was finally able to take out the MCX.  The suppressor is still in jail.  300blk subs are QUIET!

Sweet setup. I'm curious, though. I see the 416s with the light down at the 5:00 position a lot, but I don't understand why people put them there instead of the 1-2 or 10-11 oclock like they seem to on most other AR platforms. Why?

Posted this in a different thread but thought id put it here too:

Love this setup and super quiet although in the future ill make can out of titanium, not 316ss. Its a little hefty.

Is that scout light directly bolted to the mlok slot without an actual scout mount?

I got big hands and the geissele rail is fairly thin; I moved it to get a better grip.  When I ran a vfg it was at the 11 o’clock spot.

Yes.  It’s mounted with two machine screws and two washers.

I didn’t think the rattler barrel was compatible with legacy uppers?! Do you just need the corresponding bolt?

Really like that carbon fiber Lancer hand guard.  They just need to offer a picatinny rail to go with with it that is scalloped like the MPX rail.

I'll be damned, you are right.  I've been looking for the matching MPX picatinny rail for well over a year now.  That's been the only thing holding me back from ordering the Lancer carbon fiber rail.  You willing to help a brother out with the machining work?  Looking forward your additional pictures.

ETA: Fair warning - I used a rubber mallet to install. I wished it followed the receiver profile but otherwise it’s clean chunk of aluminum.

Day - The dot is useless. Laser is OK.

NODs - IR is great, laser anyway. Illuminator is very small but useful in CQB like distances/scenarios.

Can't wait to get a Gen 2.

Awesome. Just got mine in the mail. Noticed the same thing about the IR illum being a little tight. Also my vis laser has a tiny very dim second laser dot that shows up with it which is a bit annoying, but at least it doesn’t show on the IR laser.

Is the dot useless because it won’t get bright enough?

Also have you heard what they’re changing for the second gen?

TacOps with 9” barrel and TR25. Just throwing ideas around - set at max power and use a ring mounted RMR/SRO for 1x + NV use? The ring mounted RDS would keep it at a good height for NV (quick check) and the x-power for possibilities? Plan on a SF Warcomp and Warden in the near future.
