So a local shop has a 522 for sale for $350 and from what I saw priced online it didn't look like a bad deal. I have been interested in a new .22lr and though that would be a fun shooter. I just don't know if I should get that or look at something else.

My first one from 2010 had over 30,000 rounds through it by the time I re-barreled it and gave it to my cousin in 2012, and its still trucking. I had 2 others, the pistol and HBAR models, and all 3 were super reliable, and could go 2,000 rounds between cleanings. I abused the shit out of them and the only issue I had was from the original bolt recoil rod assembly that Sig sent replacement parts out the same week, these issues are years in the past so have no worries on current production. The choice to go with Ceiner style Black Dog mags was the best selling point for me. I have since switched over to dedicated CMMG AR's so I sold them off.

Both of mine (pistol & rifle) have been 100% reliable, less failure ammo.

Mags are cheap, I can share them with my AR. Both of mine have better accuracy than my 10/22.

I can't recommend the sig 522's enough.

I also have the pistol and rifle 522 and love them. I wouldn't trade either one for two any other mil-styled 22.

I have two and I love them. Great guns overall.

Kind of an oddball question, but has anyone tried to use this http://www.redi-mag.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=52 on the 522? Just curious because I have a ton of 15-22 mags.

Ive got a early gun basically when they came out. I had the problem with the c clips falling off the bcg but sig has since fixed the problem in the new ones. Just havent called them to fix mine. But other than that, its been flawless.i think it and the smith and wesson 22 ar are yhe the best tacticool 22s out there as they are actually made by their respective companies and not farmed out to umarex or whoever

I have three 522's, one 16" rifle and 2 pistols converted and stamped as SBR's.

My 522's never miss a beat; more reliable with bulk pack 22lr ammo than my S&W M&P15-22's.

Mine has been great.  Definitely one of my favorite guns (and pretty much the one that everyone always wants to shoot).  No matter who I go with to the range (or random people that I meet there), everyone wants to shoot it.  It doesn't disappoint...

I had one.  Swapped out the front sight with a Midwest Industries AR height, threw on a Magpul MBUS rear and a Manticore grip.  Ended up giving it to my brother because the rifle was so goddamn boring.  It would just punch ragged holes all day long, never needed cleaning, etc, etc.

I'll probably end up getting another one if I can find a good price on it, but I stuck with S&W 15-22s to have plinker mag commonality for me and the wife.

SIG 522's rock man. That's a good deal for one. I've owned one for several years now and have put multiple thousands of rounds through it. It is accurate and very reliable. Put a bushnell trs-25 on top of it and rock and roll. Excellent rifle.

Fantastic highly reliable little rifles. The only FTF's I've had were my fault. Not a tack driver but far more accurate than a 15/22. Only drawback for me is the trigger and I'm not a huge fan of the looks which is why I put another $400 in changing the stock and forend.

My teenage daughter's 522 has been 100% as well. Of all the guns she owns, her 522 gets the most trigger time by far. It's just plain FUN

She also has an AR (Colt LE6920) and has a dedicated rimfire upper for it. She enjoys shooting her 522 far more than the rimfire converted AR.
