It's not...yet.  But, that's the part number for the rail that DSully has, when it is available.

I'm looking at purchasing and mounting a Surefire scout light on a 45 degree mount at the 3 o'clock position on the MCX. Is there a specific 45 deg mount that works? The angle of the handguard looks like it wouldn't accept a 45 deg. mount. Or am I just crazy?

I just got a used 300BLK barrel off the EE.  The piston doesn't have rings.  My 556 barrel's piston has rings.  Is this normal?

I haven't seen the 300BLK barrel apart as Sig hasn't shipped my 9" barrel ordered back in February.

ETA:  The pics in this post show no rings on the piston on the 300BLK:

I'm waiting on my form 1 to be approved the. I'm going to be in the market for the 11.5 556 barrel and the 9" 300BLk

Judging by some of the threads around the Internet it seems there may be a long wait for this stuff

I get the impression sig is way over their heads in keeping promised timelines.

Ya, I don't think the 556 pistol version is even on the streets yet! I've been trying to hold out for the 300blk pistol version and SBR'ing it. But I'm getting worried that they won't be out until next year when the election panic buying begins.

Yes the MCX 5.56 pistol is out. Just check GB, they have been for sale on there for quite some time

You made a statement that the 5.56 pistol must not have hit the street yet and I was just saying that they have and they have been on GB recently in the past. Not sure if any are on GB currently. I have an MCX 11.5" upper that I purchased from GB and just got my form 1 approved.

That's fantastic! Wasn't doubting you, just surprised that it slipped under my radar. I hope the MSRP would be lower on the pistol version. Think I'm gonna still try to hold out for a 300blk Pistol version.

That should be the standard stock offered, IMO. Don't really see why the bothered with the folding only model. The MP5 style stock looks nice, but if I were to get an MCX I'd want this stock. What kind of prices are these going for in 5.56, 16" rifle models? $1600?

Mine didn't seem to. Once I had it tightened down in my vice,  it took minimal effort to spin off. There wasn't any residue or indication of a thread locker having been applied.

I've got about 500 rounds through my 11.5" MCX and noticed inside the upper rail where the gas block sits under, there is a small area where the aluminum looks melted. Is this from the heat of the gas escaping and is this normal?

I don't know how to post pics but it looks like a melted circle on the inside of he upper rail. I am thinking where the hot gas purges and it is causing the aluminum to melt.

It is. I zero with 110 gr supersonics and use 220 GR for subs. Zero is at 100 yards. Subs are lower at 100. I'm sure I could use a different GR for each to get it to perfectly line up with the reticle but I haven't messed with that yet. I usually just shoot 110 gr. Subs are just for fun when I throw this upper on my full auto lower.

That's awesome! Where did you score that? SIG can't seem to make them. And do you know the diameter of the can in there? And the clearance allowed inside the suppressor width model?

The hand guard is from Sig. Suppressor is too. Suppressor is 1.75". I'd have to measure the handguard but from memory it's probably below 2" and obviously greater than 1.75"

Mini 4 is 1.5" and that rail is less than 1.5". Can won't fit under it
